JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for someone with significant experience, knowledge and capability in civil design who is
interested in becoming a leader in a small business. Must be intelligent, hard-working, and self-motivated to
develop the skills necessary to grow continuously in the civil engineering discipline and in business
management. The successful candidate will be trained and groomed in project and client management as
well as specific surveying relevant to engineering projects, by the company’s Principal PE/PLS/CWRE. This
position also works with five other professional/technical staff and two admin staff.
Projects often require engineering skills in civil site design (industrial, commercial and residential),
engineering calculations (including hydrology and some structural, etc.), water/wastewater systems design,
surveying and mapping, partitions, land use planning, water rights, and some railroad siding/crossing design.
This position will also prepare plans and specifications, perform project observation and contractor
bidding/billing reviews, coordinate with sub-consultants and government agencies as needed,
review/estimate prospective projects, draft proposals and prepare written scope of work for contract
agreements with clients. The successful candidate will become a strong leader in supporting work in our
local region as well as consulting for projects in other states. Very little out-of-state travel is required.
Lifting equipment (30-60 pounds) may be necessary from time-to-time. Applicant must be in good physical
health with the ability to walk medium distances over rugged terrain while carrying equipment. During
construction observation, must be able to stand for long periods of time. This position may require working
independently to gather field survey data using a robotic total station or RTK GPS system. Must have a valid
Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

EDUCATION and Other Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required. PE license is
desired; must have Engineering Intern (EI) certification and a minimum of three years of related experience.
Knowledge of MicroSurvey CAD or AutoCAD Civil 3d desired. Preference may be given to those
applicants with experience in construction and related activities, as well as surveying and drafting.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The wage will be negotiable based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Benefits include: paid

meeting eligibility requirements.
