Problem: Need to get a unit train off of the mainline track?
Richard Best Transfer, Inc., Dinuba, CA, unloads and transfers products from rail cars to trucks. Their facility had a short spur and a separate siding, but not enough track space to receive a unit train (100 cars). Receiving a unit train saves operational money and they had enough land but needed a design.
JD McGee, Inc. surveyed/ mapped their land, listened to their specific operational needs, designed the rail system, obtained approval from the San Juaquin Valley RR, then performed the construction staking to lay out the track. Since the initial yard layout in 2011, we have added three more sidings/spurs to accommodate expanded operations.
